The virtual machine runs Windows XP in VMWare Player. I'm running Windows 7 and created a special VM to drive my AMT-8. I did manage to patch the kernel to make that work, but it's not perfect, and I eventually gave up on that idea and just recently sold off my AMT8 in favor of a midi patchbay. You could chain your Mk1 to a MK2 or AMT-8, but that's not really supported linux out of the box. The USB ones are basically plug-and-play. I can't imagine it would be super hard to reverse engineer, but it's no job for a beginner. I would really appreciate any help.I don't know of any way to use the serial one in linux unfortunately. I don't even know how to install a driver- and I can't find one either. I know nothing about linux, so i need to figure out exactly what to do to get this to work.
